Octagon: 43' Diameter, 1,391 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two-Bath Floor Plan.

This home is anything but conventional. Someone with a love of symmetry will enjoy its evenly divided spaces. Three bedrooms share a full-size bath, while the primary bedroom has its own ensuite. The entry may have room for a small dining table.

Gemini: Double 34' Diameter, 1,557 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two-Bath Floor Plan.

Simple and streamlined. This floor plan has a primary bedroom with a large ensuite bath, garden tub, and his and her closets. Three more bedrooms have nice closets and share the second bath. The mud room/laundry area and the big pantry are attractive for an active family!

Orion: A 47' Diameter, 1,590 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two-Bath, Floor Plan.

The Orion-style homes are meant to be built on stem walls. This home has a kitchen in the heart of the house with four bedrooms, two baths, and a large laundry/mudroom radiating around it. The coat closet by the front door is attractive, as is the extra closet in the second bath. Another highlight is the second entrance which opens into a mud room/laundry space.

Callisto: A 50' Diameter, 1,964 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two-Bath Floor Plan.

The layout of this home wastes very little space. The primary bedroom boasts a big closet and ensuite bath with double sinks, a full-sized tub and a custom shower. Two smaller bedrooms share the full-sized second bath— with a handy third door for guest use. The fourth bedroom needs a closet, but it could be used as a study alternatively. Homeowners will like the extra storage spaces in this house—there are three linen cupboards, a coat closet, a pantry and a laundry room.

Callisto: A 50' Diameter, 1,964 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three and a Half-Bath Floor Plan.

There is an astounding number of closets in this house. However, a lot of space is devoted to a central hallway in this plan. The curved wall could be removed if the privacy of the bedrooms weren’t a big concern. There are two Jack-and-Jill bathrooms, a powder room AND a full bath in the primary bedroom.

Triton: Three 32’ Diameter Domes, 2,044 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

It can be hard to find a floor plan like this nowadays. It seems like open floor plans are everywhere you look. In this case, the plan calls for many private spaces and a large living room. The kitchen and dining rooms are spacious, and the three full baths are sure to be enough for any family.

Miranda: Main Floor of a 45' Diameter, 2,290 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

A formal foyer and grand staircase take center stage on the main floor of this dome house. The person who runs the home will love how their huge kitchen, private desk, pantry and laundry are tucked away together. The primary bedroom is hidden behind a den and includes his and her closets and a large ensuite bath with a garden tub, a custom shower and a double sink.

The two bedrooms on the upper floor of this Miranda floor plan each have a sink/vanity and share access to a bathroom with a shower and a huge shared closet. There are also designated spaces for an exercise room and a tv/game room. If the game room upstairs isn’t a must-have, some of that space could be used to expand the small bathroom.

The patio doors leading to the pool could be moved to the kitchen or dining area, making outdoor dining extra convenient.

Torus: 66' Diameter, 2,355 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

This house is a showstopper! The primary bedroom includes an ensuite with a garden tub, a shower, a linen closet and a walk-in closet. The powder room just off the family room entry is a plus. The central courtyard gets a lot of attention, but the kitchen is where this plan really shines—note the bank of built in cupboards, prep sink and breakfast bar.

Ganymede: Two 40' Diameter Domes, 2,512 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

This is the house plan of Charca Casa, the home built by Judy and David B. South in Italy, Texas. The rooms are all spacious, and there is a loft space above the bathrooms and office space of the right dome. This is a proven and excellent floor plan with lots of storage and family gathering space.

Ganymede: Two 40' Diameter Domes, 2,581 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

This house is customized for dog lovers! Install a drain in the floors; the two dog rooms become dog wash rooms. In addition to the home’s four bedrooms and three large bathrooms, there are extra closets, an office, an art studio (with closet), and a nice-sized pantry. The formal entry with view to the patio should be highlighted.

Ganymede: Two 40' Diameter Domes, 2,581 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

The parents have a dome, and the kids have a dome in this house! The primary suite has a large walk-in closet and a luxury bath. The big pantry is a nice addition to the big great room. The homeowner could change things a little on the kids’ side of the house to make a powder room convenient to the great room and entrance. It could be done by moving the tub to the powder room and switching the door to the new powder room to open toward the entry.

Europa: Four 32' Diameter Domes, 2,664 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

The front door to this house is located off the kitchen in the great room. The rear entrance is the dream for any pet owner or avid gardener! The primary bedroom has a big ensuite bath and a large walk-in closet. The three guest rooms share a roomy bath. There is a ton of common space for the family to share. A bank of closets or cupboards added to the living area would be a great place to store games, coats and sports equipment.

Triton: 30', 20', and 50' Diameter Domes, 2,786 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two-Bath Floor Plan.

The brilliance of this floor plan is in the small 20’ diameter dome in the middle. Everything “extra” can be neatly stored there and in the garage, leaving the main dome for the things the family uses daily. The small foyer entryway is a good way to keep the weather from affecting interior temps.

Hyperion: Three 36' Diameter Domes, 2,789 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two-Bath Floor Plan.

Much thought went into carefully separating this home’s noisiest rooms and bedrooms. The kitchen, family room and dining room are all on one side of the house, and the bedrooms are on the other. In the middle is a study, a small bedroom and the formal living room—a perfect place for quiet talks. This floor plan has tons of storage space (note the huge pantry!) and a conveniently placed laundry room off the main entry.

Atlas: 60' Diameter, 2,827 SF, Four-Bedroom, Two and a Half-Bath Floor Plan.

This home’s central rock garden and open floor plan provide the wow factor. The primary bedroom shares a bathroom with the fourth bedroom or office. All four bedrooms have equal space, closets and access to one of two huge bathrooms. The powder room off the formal entry is a plus, as is the large laundry/mud room area. This will be a dramatic and beautiful home with soaring ceilings and a proper entry leading organically to the rock garden and back patio or to the sunny great room.

Hyperion: 32', 40', 32' Diameter Domes, 2,850 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

The private primary bedroom suite includes a double sink, a garden tub and a sauna! If that’s not enough to make this floor plan attractive, the large laundry room should do it. The central dome of this triplet is an open space with nearly 18-foot ceilings. On the opposite side of the house from the primary are three smaller bedrooms with large closets and a nice-sized guest bath.

Rigel: Main level of a 55' Diameter, 3,544 SF, Four-Bedroom, Three-Bath Floor Plan.

An open floor plan can still have a clear division of spaces. In this case, the great room is nicely separated into a living area, a dining area and a kitchen. The placement of the side door entrance into a mud room/laundry is well done. The highlight might be the primary suite with its big his and her closets, a large bath with double sinks and a private office. Note the built-in cupboards in the hallway of the two guest bedrooms. This would be a handy place to store board games, sports equipment, and/or canned goods.

Some lucky kid somewhere will love having the upper floor of this house mostly to herself—especially with the private balcony and big closet. One bedroom, a sitting room and a full-sized bath dominate the space, but there’s still plenty of room for household storage.

The closets in this house make it a favorite. All four bedrooms have nice big closets. Three bedrooms share a large bathroom with double sinks, and the primary bedroom has its own ensuite. Other highlights include a rear entryway that walks into a mud room/laundry, a clever powder room with a linen closet and double sinks, a huge great room and a den that would make a very nice theater.
