Welcome to the Monolithic Dome Institute website (“Website,” “Site”), created by Monolithic Dome Institute LLC (“MDI,” “Institute,” “We,” “Us”) and published at monolithicdome.com. This Privacy Policy applies to any information that is collected while you are on the Site. This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service and by using the Site you agree to both.

Information collected

When you browse the site

When you visit the Site we collect log data, for example: the type of browser and operating system you are using, the address of the external or internal page that referred you, your IP address and pages on the site that you visit in association with your IP address. This information is recorded even if you do not have an account, or even when you are logged out of your account. We mostly use this information to diagnose issues with the site.

When you submit a form

When you submit content or questions via an online form, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, IP address, and other requested information. We retain this information indefinitely so we may have a history of our past communications.

When you subscribe to a mailing list

When you subscribe to one of our mailing lists, we require your email address so we can send you the content you requested. We may ask for other information like your name to help personalize the emails. We use Send In Blue for processing our email lists. You will remain on our mailing list until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time.

When you contact us directly

If you email us or send other communications to us directly, we will retain your email or address and correspondence so we may respond to your request. We retain this information indefinitely so we may have a history of our past communications.

When you buy from our store

We host our web shop at Shopify. Shopify saves a cookie while you visit to maintain your login credentials, save items in your shopping cart, and track your visit at the shop. When you order an item from our shop, Shopify will save your contact information and order details for us to fulfill. Sharing information

We generally do not share our information with third parties, however, we may share information under the following circumstances:

  1. If we receive your informed consent;
  2. If it is necessary for a third party provider to perform tasks on our behalf (as described in this policy);
  3. If we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, or valid legal process. If we are going to release your information, we will do our best to provide you with notice in advance, if we have a means to contact you, unless we are prohibited by court order from doing so; or

International visitors

Monolithic Dome Institute LLC is a Texas based company whose servers are housed in the United States. All personal information we collect from our international users is processed according to US law.

Matomo analytics

We use Matomo Analytics to help us understand how visitors engage with our site so that we can improve it. We use a cookie-less mechanism to trigger Matomo and cannot track individual users. Matomo is open-source software. We host it on our own system and none of its data is shared with anyone, except under potential conditions as stated in “Sharing information” section above.
