Aerial Video of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Safe Room Under Construction

Aerial video of Monolithic Dome construction for Catoosa Public Schools

Greg Miller / Submitted Media

Greg Miller submitted this great HD aerial video of the Catoosa Public Schools safe room under construction. You can see that work continues on the exterior while Monolithic construction crews work inside. The Monolithic Dome concrete shell is expected to be finished before Christmas.

The new dome will serve as a cafeteria and auditorium for the Catoosa, Oklahoma school district. More importantly, it’s a FEMA rated safe room built specifically to hold all the students during a tornado watch.

It’s scheduled to open for the 2016-17 school year.

Interior construction.

The polyurethane foam and steel reinforcing rebar are already installed plus the first layer of shotcrete applied. Multiple passes of shotcrete will complete the insulated concrete thin shell structure before Christmas.
