Stone Dome is a striking 4,740-square-foot (440 m²) Monolithic Dome home in the Texas Hill Country, blending custom craftsmanship, innovative design, and sustainability with its five interlinked domes, arched ceilings, antique-inspired vanities, and a 40,000-gallon (150,000 l) cistern for year-round water supply.

Expansive Feeling.

The great room includes the main dining area, two comfortable conversation spaces, a breakfast nook, and the kitchen, all coming together in a versatile and inviting living space.

The expansive residence consists of five Monolithic Domes. The smallest two domes at the outer edges are 32-foot (9.75 m) garages. The center dome is 40 feet (12 m) in diameter and houses the living room, dining area, and chef’s kitchen with a stunning marble backsplash and a pony wall clad with custom leather-and-wood wainscotting. Flanking the central dome are two “bedroom domes,” each 36 feet (11 m) wide. All four bedrooms have large windows with deep, hand-troweled ledges perfect for curling up with a good book or creating indoor mini-gardens. Every bathroom in the home features a custom vanity created by repurposing antique furniture.

The beautiful undulating profile of the home is due to the shape of the Airform, which was carefully designed and built by Monolithic. By joining five domes with radial saddles, the exterior achieves long, sweeping lines, and the interior is graced with stunning double-curved, arched ceilings. Monolithic also built the dome shell and hand-troweled the interior shotcrete for a smooth finish.

Underneath the ground-level patio is a 40,000-gallon cistern, which supplies the house with fresh water all year round. A unique filtration system treats the water, starting with not one but two particle filters and then a UV light system to kill bacteria or viruses.

Moody Greys.

The high ceiling of the dome, combined with the gentle curves of the Airform augmentation framing the picture window and its built-in reading ledge, creates a space that feels both open and cozy.
