Waimea Valley Hawaii Dome Home
Monolithic Dome home in the Waimea Valley on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. It was built by Jo King in 2008 on an acre of land alongside the Waimea River and the Menehune ditch—the oldest archeological site in the state of Hawaii. Mountain spring water in the Menehune ditch system supplies fresh water for various fruit trees—mango, coconut, papaya, guava, macadamia nut—and other tropical plants like aloe vera and agave.
The Monolithic Dome is an open floor plan with two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms upstairs, a half bathroom and two outdoor showers, laundry, and gym downstairs.
