The Sweet Dome Alabama tri-dome home is set on a hill. The gray exterior matches the rocky outcrops to blend the home into the environment.

Sweet Dome Alabama is a Monolithic Dome home near New Hope, Alabama. Nestled on a hillside among a forest of black walnut, poplar, red oak trees, this 2,133 square foot (198 m²) home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, great room. “I designed with the curve of the dome,” said Beverly Garcia who, along with her husband Kenneth, built the home in 2010, “the center is open and really roomy.”

The multi-dome structure is a Hyperion design of three swooping dome shapes all inflated as a single, custom Airform membrane. The large dome is 48-feet (14.6 m) diameter by 18-feet (5.5 m) tall. It is the main “house” portion of the structure, heated and cooled by a geothermal heat pump. The middle dome is the utility area with the HVAC system, mudroom, and water heater. It’s the smallest dome shape at 22-feet (6.7 m) diameter by 11-feet (3.5 m) tall. The garage dome is medium-sized at 28-feet (8.5 m) diameter by 14-feet (4.3 m) tall and houses two cars plus storage.

The house was listed for sale in 2022.
