Joshua P. Richardson, realtor and a graduate of the Fall 2023 Monolithic Dome Builders Workshop, has received a $25,000 grant and mentorship from Heartland Forward to support his plans to start his own dome company. Only 12 of 1000 applicants were accepted to the program, which includes mentorship.

“It has been a lifelong dream to start being a builder in this arena, and all the pieces are starting to come together,” Richardson said. “It is a true blessing!”

Richardon envisions making Monolithic Dome construction a mainstream option, not only accessible and affordable but also popular among people who respect the stability, energy efficiency, and durability of dome homes.

He attended the workshop at the Monolithic Dome Institute through an initial accelerator program, Builders and Backers, a 90-day program that supports innovative ideas. They are currently accepting new applications.

Heartland Forward promotes innovation, job creation, and economic growth in America’s heartland. The annual Heartland Summit is supported by diverse groups, including the Walton Family Foundation, Superior Automotive Group, Tyson Foods, and more than a dozen others, and it’s led by Ross DeVol, president and CEO.

Having support at this stage reinvigorates Richardson, who says, “I will definitely be using you guys as a resource through this journey!”
