The new look of Bruco, the Texas Italian Caterpillar, will be open for tours of the manufacturing plant.

Celebrating 50 years of the Monolithic Dome.

Come and tour the houses, offices, and shops at the Monolithic Dome Research Park in Italy, Texas. This FREE tour is open to the public on October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes the famous Bruco: The Texas Italian Caterpillar.

The Monolithic Dome Research Park is the home of the Monolithic Dome Institute and Monolithic Constructors, Inc. The campus shows many styles, shapes, and uses of Monolithic Domes and Ecoshells. Many structures were built by students attending the semi-annual Monolithic Dome Builders Workshops.

In addition to the research park domes such as the Airform manufacturing plant, training center, and offices there several nearby Monolithic Dome houses.

The Monolithic Dome Research Park is located at 177 Dome Park Place, Italy, Texas 76651.
