The Oculus in Massive Concrete Dome lights the Rotunda Below

The massive concrete dome sits on the equally massive rotunda wall. The 30-foot (9.1 m) oculus at the dome apex is the only source of natural light and forms a kind of natural sundial as a shaft of sunlight tracks across the building throughout the day.
