It was built by Jo King in 2008 on an acre of land alongside the Waimea River and the Menehune ditch—the oldest archeological site in the state of Hawaii. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Great Dome is a 100-foot (30.5 m) diameter concrete and limestone dome. It sits on top of Building 10 in the heart of the MIT campus. Completed in 1916, the whole building complex is an early example of steel reinforced, concrete construction. Johnson Creek High School and Middle School is a campus of five Monolithic Domes in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. The school houses 500 students from grades 5 to 12. It replaced the aging school characterized as having “leaky roofs, antiquated facilities, classrooms in double-wide trailers.” The total project cost the district $8.9 million.
