Have you ever wanted to build a Monolithic Dome? To get your hands dirty applying foam, hanging steel, and spraying shotcrete? Want to learn from dome builders with decades of experience? Now’s your chance. Come to the Spring 2024 Monolithic Dome Builders Workshop this April and build a genuine Monolithic Dome.
Unlike most seminars, the Monolithic Dome Builders Workshop is more than just teaching the principles of construction. It’s about applying the principles with hands-on training while students build a real Monolithic Dome.
It’s one thing to hear about polyurethane foam and how it is the world’s greatest insulation. It’s quite another to spray the foam yourself and watch it expand into a firm yellow matrix. We will teach you the best patterns for rebar reinforcement, then you tie rebar yourself, laying it out in a criss-cross pattern. You will get an in-depth discussion on how to apply shotcrete, then you get your hands—and pretty much everything else—dirty by spraying shotcrete yourself.
It’s a week-long class you will long remember. Plus, you get to meet enthusiastic, hard-working people like yourself. You get to talk about your dream dome. And you can discuss your ideas and have your questions answered by the professionals at the Monolithic Dome Institute.
The Spring 2024 Monolithic Dome Builders Workshop begins on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in Italy and Dawson, Texas. The five-day course is divided between classroom instruction and hands-on training. Lunch is provided. For more details—including travel instructions, hotel locations—please read our FAQs about the Monolithic Dome Builders Workshop.
